Sea Change for Employment Programme

Every year, we offer at least 16 neurodivergent young adults the chance to gain real-life work experience through our ‘Sea Change for Employment Programme’

About the Programme

For some, learning can feel more like a maze than a curve. Sea Change helps people navigate that learning journey by providing a forgiving environment where individuals can take the time they need to grow into the confident team members we know they can be.

With the guidance of a dedicated mentor and lots of specialised resources, our trainees gain hands-on experience from day one – observing, practicing, and mastering a range of skills to prepare them for what’s next.

They’ll learn transferable skills such as effective communication, teamwork, health & safety in the workplace, and time management. They’ll also gain qualifications, including their Level 1 or / and Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

Sometimes, our team might get your order wrong, and sometimes your order may take a while. Day by day, our team is learning what it takes to run a top-class kitchen and café, but until we get there, all we ask is for a little bit of patience - we promise it will be worth the wait!

Training Levels

Keep an eye out for our staff badges – they show the stage each our team members have reached in their training:

Bronze

I’m getting the hang of things, but I still need lots of guidance and patience while I continue to develop.

Silver

I’m making great progress and becoming more independent, though I still require support along the way.

Gold

I can manage most tasks on my own, but I still rely on support when needed.

Rainbow

I’m confident in my abilities and thriving, though I still rely on support to ensure I stay on track and continue to grow.
